UNIVERSAL POPLAB began life on a dull January day in 2002 when vocalist Christer Lundberg and producer Paul Lachenardière shook hands over a couple of beers and a vegetarian meal, agreeing on plans to create a shimmering spectacle of synthpop art.
February 2004 marked the release of their self-titled debut album. The album - and several singles from it such as "New Baby Boom", "We Hate It When Our Friends Become Successful" and "Dice Roller" - achieved chart success.

"Uprising" was first released in November 2006, received thrilled reviews and was celebrated during many live gigs. Esp. Christer's brilliant vocals stand out from many male synthpop acts, and the intoxicating songs with the sometimes tongue-in-cheek lyrics remind listeners of 80's heroes like Alphaville or Erasure. "Uprsing" is now made available worldwide through Major Records.
