Born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on November 30, 1983. Eclectic, and at times reclusive, Deckard Croix has managed to escape any major recognition by the public. Known (by those who know him) for his unconventional inclinations and sometimes unpredictable behavior, he wears his influences on his sleeve but makes it all his own. While his skills range from guitar and keyboard to bass and drums, he is also educated in music theory (counterpoint in particular), recording techniques, and various experimental instruments.
A list of the many bands he has contributed to would be tedious (even I don't know all of them). The most recent being the band formerly known as Thora's Birch (now going by the name of Ho Pie), laughingly described by Croix as a "disaster". He is now currently unaffiliated.
His experience as a studio musician has taken him from jazz to avant rock.
There are several spoken word recordings he has been a part of. One in particular titled One Arm by Yasunari Kawabata, recorded at a private artist gathering (attended by poets, actors, painters, as well as very few musicians) is over 40 minutes long.
He has begun re-working a project based on an original poem called Smiling Feline Descendant.
Always looking for new ways to expand his sound, he has also begun an experimental project called The Autist Cafe. What it is exactly I have no idea, he has been very secretive about it.
