Introduction
I love music - blues, jazz, classical, and all other "good" music. I'm played harmonica for 31 years, seriously for the past 13. I also play keyboards, mainly blues.

I've been a Manufacturing Process Engineer in a large corporation for almost thirty years. This keeps me quite busy during the week. My main hobby is music. I studied classical piano from age ten to sixteen, learning the uncut Chopin, Beethoven, and various other classics. I was also into the 60's British Invasion on the radio. I've studied music theory in high school, and have picked up various music classes over the years. I started harmonica in 1976, after hearing Shakin' Smith (Buffalo, NY) covering the classic blues players. I self-taught from recordings, and thought I was a pretty good harmonica player, playing in a couple of blues bands. Then I attended the Buckeye Harmonica Festival in 1993, and have attended every year since then. This opened up my world to the wide range of great harmonica musicians, from trios to classical to jazz, and of course more blues. This included seminars by Joe Filisko, Peter Madcat Ruth, Dennis Gruenling, Gary Primich, Steve Guyger, Mark Hummel, and many others. I attended the Augusta Heritage Blues Week during 1996-2003, and got week-long lessons from Joe Filisko, Grant Dermody, Larry Eisenberg, Carlos del Junco, and Gary Primich (and spent time with Phil Wiggins). This really showed me what I needed to learn, and led to fairly rapid improvement in my playing. Joe Filisko granted me the "most improved player award" for both 2002 and 2003. I've played keyboards and harmonica with "The House Band" since 1999, with my dear friends Charlie Jackson, Bill Hill, and Wes Hart (and recently, Dave Rainey). We play an eclectic mix of originals in styles from folk to blues to garage rock. I'm a pretty good boogie/blues pianist, and I love my Hammond M-103 organ. I've also played keys and harps in other bands, but now mostly freelance on harmonica, sitting in with various bands at their gigs, or playing the occasional jazz jam session. I also teach the occasional harmonica student or harmonica class. I'll be teaching 10-hole harmonica on April 19, 2007 at the Buckeye Harmonica Festival, Columbus Ohio. I've been married to my dear wife Margaret for 27 years. My son, Sam, is a junior in high school, is way too smart, and is currently a grunge fanatic. Our red Miniature Pinscher, Kirby, keeps us all amused.
