JODY RAFFOUL may be from a small town in Southern Ontario, but his diverse career as a working class pop-rock singer/songwriter has continued to put him in the spotlight with big name artists, opening for the likes of Bon Jovi, Kid Rock, Joe Cocker, Blues Traveler, Richard Marx, Counting Crows, The Allman Brothers Band, Uncle Kracker, John Entwhistle, Chris Isaak, Paul Rogers and many more.
Jody developed his vocal, musical and songwriting by starting out in a cover band as teenager. His first two albums, 1996's JODY RAFFOUL and 2000's SIMPLE LIFE not only garnered attention from the music industry, contemporaries and some of Jody's musical influences, but they also showcased Jody's diversity.
The LIKE A STAR album continues that trend. Jody writes from his heart and his passion for his music shines through in such tracks as "Light Of Day", about living in a safe country and wanting people to realize and appreciate what they have instead of the less fortunate. "She Says", is Jody’s tribute to women everywhere by acknowledging the sacrifices made by women on a daily basis. "Like A Star" is a personal song that reflects Jody’s desire that was born in his childhood and about believing in his destiny for himself and his music. "Dreamer" is about never giving up on your dreams and the story of Jody’s life. |
