Just updating everyone on the status of the site and some changes we have made regarding payment capturing.

Well here we are entering our 4th year in business and yet any funds generated from the site are extremely minimal. There is one reason in particular that is causing this hardship and the struggle to keep this thing going (out of pocket). The main reason is my complete refusal to allow outside ads which would generate revenue. I remain firm in my stance that to be a truly "independent" community/shop you can not have banners and ads flying all over the independent artists pages, so that will not change although I have been offered ad deals in the past.

The second reason is lack of support from the community, whether it's purchasing a LIFETIME premium membership for a one time fee of $60, or just purchasing one of the many cd's available in our shop section, or listing an album with us for $35. The deals are incredible and the payouts for sales of albums to the artist are un-paralleled. These 3 main revenue generating avenues must be further explored and made use of. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I'm hoping I can get this site to start making a bit of revenue, mainly to keep it going, but hopefully so I can start implementing pages full of ideas to improve the site. If I had a real budget this site would look and feel like no other, always with the same principle of putting the artist first!

Second I wanted to talk about capturing payment through Bonxo for CD listings, Membership Upgrades, and CD Purchases. We are no longer accepting credit cards, the cc company was charging so much for a service that was rarely used that it made sense to relieve ourselves of the financial monthly burden. Instead of direct CC proccesing we have chose to use PAYPAL which is very common now, and is also able to process credi cards. This in turn saves us some dough, of course if things become high volume then a merchant account will be neccessary again.

Please consider purchasing some original independent music for the holidays, I promise they make nice unique gifts, and really really help the artists that labor to make these creations. If anyone is interested in gift certificates, please let me know, all my info is directly on the contact page. There's about 4 different ways to get a hold of me... LETS TALK!!
