This is a kind of a folk British " sea chanty " song. I always enjoy writing songs that contain strong visuals. I've never considered myself really country, but actually listening back to it, it could be considered kinda country. Oh well if it takes a fiddle and a slide guitar to get it out there, I'm game(might be just what it needs). Hope you enjoy!
From other skies , the tolling of the iron bell
Just look away and you'll see
In the distance , another shore lies , just look away and see
Look away , my darling don't you look away , the future's getting hard to see ,
Across the painted sky , and other hands , don't look away from me ,
Please understand that it is not so simple to have a man like me ,
Take my hand , we'll live upon the time we've borrowed ,
Just look away with me ,
Through the rain , your smile brings me comfort ,
like a refreshing point of view ,
Free to fly , like a river neverending , I look away to you,
Hope to dreams , living for a lasting sunset , one where tomorrow never comes ,
Far away from castles and the circled shoreline , don't look away from me ,
Please understand , that it is not so simple , to have a man like me ,
Take my hand , we'll live upon the time we've borrowed ,
Just look away with me ,
Look away , my darling don't you look away , the future's getting hard to see ,
Across the clouded sky , and many darkened doorways , don't look away from me.
