When I compose I rarely have a theme in mind, musically or lyrically. I mess around with chord progressions or a simple lick and build from there. Once I have a basic structure and melody I let the sound of the song dictate what direction to go in lyrically. In the case of this song I went a bit dark with the lyrics against a very mellow backdrop.

To me the song is a combination of Blues, Latin Jazz, with a hint of Soul tossed in. Mix all that with 60’s style harmony and you have a song you can roller-skate to!!! Enjoy!!!
