| The Favourite Sons were formed in mid 2005 in Aberdeen, Scotland. The band instantly developed a strong live set, and set about playing around Scotland. With headline slots in Glasgow and Aberdeen under their belt, and a support slot for The Cosmic Rough Riders @ Gig in Edinburgh, it's been a busy year. The shows have been recieved greatly and the music continues to develop and mould itself, with insightful lyrics and driving, riff-based guitars. Already the band has caught much attention, and drew comparisons of such departures that it's a credit to the diversity of the music. The Favourite Sons reputation continues to grow, and 2006 looks like being a big year. Favourite Sons worked with Liverpool based label, Chromium Records (www.chromiumrecords.co.uk) last year, releasing debut single 'Charity' on December 5th, and 'I Feel Love' appeared on the Chromium compilation 'Brilliance'. A first Ep is hopefully going to be released around the middle of next year as a real showcase of The Favourite Sons. The band are waiting for their new site 'www.favouritesons.co.uk' to be completed, and it should look great when it's up. So until then, all updates will go through here, so keep checking in. The band are going to be back live from May onwards, and will be showcasing a lot of new material, so make sure you catch one of these shows. |
